We have been starved for months of actual F1 Content, and in the matter of a few weeks, we have had every new livery revealed and were now on the verge of the New Season.
Every February/March we are all bizarrely excited about the potential of a McLaren going back to the good old Chrome and Black look or a different Red Bull livery for once, And equally disappointed by the fact that they both look EXACTLY the same even though it means totally nothing. Yep that's your average F1 fan who is desperate for something related to F1 is the diabolical months of winter. But fear not, there has been plenty of change this year, and I am here to rank them all. Be prepare, this could get controversial...
MCLAREN
D+
What a way to start! The exact same car as in 2020 for McLaren.
*sigh*
In all fairness, its still a solid livery as it has been for the last 2 years and the saying 'don't change it if its not broken' rings strong here. However, with the major change to Mercedes engines for McLaren and the hour long cringe-fest build up to the big reveal. I more feel in the end that McLaren were frankly trying to just mug us all off in thinking it was actually going to be a fresh new look for the Woking based team. But nope, its the same hence the D+.
ALFA ROMEO

Now this is where people will begin to vent their anger at me...
I have seen this is a very popular livery across social media. Slick, cool, neat and beautiful is some of the words I have seen flying around. I have 1 word for it. Boring.
Yes I know your going to be furious reading this but unfortunately I just think its a really boring basic white car. No creativity for me and it will be largely forgotten after this season. Sorry, but I think its rubbish.
ALPHA TAURI
B-
Retro can be cool...
Alpha Tauri have gone for a simple but slick swap of the white and navy blue from last season. This looks way nicer having the blue at the front of the car and the retro feel of white wheel rims just makes it a nice solid livery. No issues but also nothing mind-blowing.
RED BULL
C-
Not much to say here...
Just like I was saying with the McLaren livery, its exactly the same as last season, which was a solid livery. The reason why this is C- instead of D- is because there was no hour long build up, they just released the images and job done. Thank you Red Bull, you saved my time.
MERCEDES
D-
Well, this is how you ruin a livery ladies and gentlemen...
A team that makes livery's that look good and then delivers on track BIG TIME have had a mare here. Keeping the superb Black livery for this season once again, until you see the rear of this car. Oh my goodness whoever thought of this deserves the sack. It's simply just a bunch of AMG Stickers just copy and pasted across the engine cover of the car. A real mess and a big disappointment.
ALPINE
A+
Viva La France...
What a livery! This is how you do a livery. After years of a not so yellow Renault, the Enstone team have pulled a beauty out of the bag here. A perfect combination of glossy blue, black and red with an overall neat racing look to it. Un très bien fait Alpine.
ASTON MARTIN
A-
Ah its good to have a green livery back on the grid...
Welcome back to F1 Aston Martin. Talk about returning in style, like the alpine its another neat glossy livery that looks amazing on track. This would get an A+, however the Pink strips added to the car due to the late re-sign with sponsor BWT has made a perfect livery less-perfect. If they had kept with the lime green which is also used on their GT cars, this would be getting an A+. What a shame, but still an awesome looking car
HAAS

Welcome to F1, Russia Racing...
Dear oh dear. I have nothing against the Russian flag, but my god this is probably one of the worst looking cars ever. Zero sponsors and the Russian flag coated over a white car. Lets move on, a truly terrible looking car
WILLIAMS
C+
A look back to the past, and the future...
I can see why people don't like the look of this car. The rear half of the car looks like its been made on the game Motorsport Manager, its not great. But personally I love the front of the car with the classic Williams theme and hints of gold on the side of the front wing. It's not quite the Martini days, but a good effort.
FERRARI
C-
If only there wasn't green...
This livery would be getting a solid B+ if it wasn't ruined by the bright green on the engine cover. A great choice to have a slick gradient from red to burgundy mixing up a fairly predictable red car most years. Lets just hope they cant use the Mission Winnow that much this season...
Thank you for making it the end of this ranking article and now we have got all of the liveries out of the way we can focus on the actual import stuff, THE RACING. Cant wait for preseason this weekend and we will have it all covered, see you then.
